DHAKA: West Indies have replied strongly to Bangladesh’s score of 387, ending at 241/2 in 82 overs.

To end the second day of 2nd Test, Bravo and Samules score unbeaten 85 and 109 runs respectively, while Rubel Hossain and Hohag Gazi bagged one wicket each.

The going was slow the whole day after the first two wickets fell but a lot had to do with the slow nature of the pitch, where batting was always going to be difficult.

Not too many shots were played by either Samuels or Bravo and in the end, they have remained not-out at close. Samuels got to another century while Bravo is 15 short of his ton.

It was hard work for the bowlers who found no swing, pace or spin on the track and getting batsmen out will be difficult unless they go for their strokes.

Earlier on Thursday morning, Bangladesh lost all wickets scoring 387 runs on the day-2 of the 2nd Test at Khulna’s Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium on Thursday morning.

History maker Abul Hasan scored 113 before giving a catch to Sammy. He became the first ever batsman in 110 years to score a century from number 10 on debut.

Tamim Iqbal took 32 runs, Shahriar Nafees 26, Naeem Islam 16, Shakib Al Hasan 17, Nasir Hossain 52, Mushfiqur Rahim 38 and Mahmudullah 76 runs before returning to the pavilion.

Pacer Fidel Edwards bagged six wickets, Captain Darren Sammy three and Permaul one.

The state-owned Bangladesh Television and satellite TV channel Channel 9 are telecasting the match live.

On November 17, the visitors beat the host by 77 runs in their first Test match at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

The West Indies cricket team arrived on a month-long tour in Dhaka on November 5 to play a full- fledged series against host Bangladesh.

During the month-long tour, the ICC World T20 winners will play a lone T20, five one-dayers and two Test matches with Bangladesh.

The first and second one-dayers will take place in Khulna on November 30 and December 2 respectively.

The remaining three one-dayers will be held in Dhaka on December 5, 7 and 8 respectively while the lone Twenty20 game will be held on December 10 in the capital.
