DHAKA: Industries Minister Dilip Barua categorically said the farmers will get adequate urea fertilizer during the current fiscal year.
The minister came up with the statement while talking to journalists after attending the inter-ministry meeting at his office at around 12:30pm.
The meeting was held to resume fertilizer production by supplying gas to the fertilizer industries under Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC).
The government has set the target to collect around 25 lakh tonnes urea fertilizer for the fiscal year 2012-13, of which, 10 lakh tonnes of fertilizer will be produced in the country, the minister informed.
Agriculture secretary Manjur Hossain, industries secretary KH Masud Siddiqui, BCIC chairman Golam Rabbani, additional secretary of the ministry Mansur Ali Sikder were among others present in the meeting.
