South Asian Countries Trade Fair begins Jun 6

DHAKA : A 5-day long 5th South Asian Countries Trade Fair will be held in Kunming city of China from June 6-10.

Like previous years, small entrepreneurs of Bangladesh will participate in the fair to make international market of the handicrafts of the country.

Some 146 entrepreneurs from Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Bangladesh Specialized Textile Mills Association and Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) will participate there with jute and leather products, silky clothes, Nakshikatha and handicrafts.

The incumbent government is encouraging the entrepreneurs of small industries for expansion of this sector.

The matter of hope is that the maximum participating entrepreneurs are women who have come at this stage by their own effort.

Assistant director of EPB fair and expo division Rahamat Ullah said, “China has allotted the stalls for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs free and the fair is important for creating the market of Bangladeshi handicrafts in international market.”

Sabita Maria Rozario, a successful woman entrepreneur, who has worked hard a lot to come to this stage, will also participate in the fair.
