RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY: Police, in separate drives, held 18 Shibir activists from Motihar and Rajpara areas on Tuesday night for their alleged involvement with bus torching incident in the university.
The detainees are Meherun Hasan, Delwar Hossain, Nazmus Sadat, Abdul Aziz, Atik, Sohel Rana, Monirul Islam, Saiful Islam, Zakaria, Sadiul Islam, Sanwar Hossain, Lutfor Rahman, Badar Uddin, Rasel Hossain, Rial Uddin, Al Amin and Asaduzzaman.
Motihar Thana OC Anisur Rahman and Rajpara Thana OC Zillur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
RMP Deputy Commissioner Morshed Anwar Khan told banglanews legal action would be taken against the detainees after investigation.
Earlier on Monday night, some unknown miscreants torched a bus in the university bus stand.
An officer of the university administration filed a case with Motihar Thana in this connection.
