RTI act in ‘textbooks’ on Jan

DHAKA: Chief information commissioner Mohammad Jamir said right to information (RTI) act is going to be inserted in new textbook curricula in next January.

He came up with the disclosure while addressing a seminar on right to information organized by Department of Media Studies and Journalism of University of Liberal Arts Saturday.

The chief information commissioner said the new books which would be sent to the students in the next January include an article on right to information.

Primarily in the books from Class-VIII to class-X of Bangla, English and Madrasha medium would be inserted the article.

He also said the flourishing task of the new website is ongoing on. A blog will be launched shortly for the internet browsers.

Editor of the News Today Riaz Uddin Ahmed, ULAB VC Imran Rahman, Mass-line Media Center (MMC) executive director Kamrul Hasan Monju, Dhaka University Law Department Professor Asif Nazrul, Barrister Tanzib-ul-Alam journalist Golam Kibria and Anis Alamgir also spoke.
