25 BD female workers “abducted” in Jordan!

DHAKA: A total of 25 Bangladeshi national female workers went missing in different periods in last two years in Jordan, an Arab Kingdom in Western Asia.

Reports say they were raped to death after being kidnapped from their way to home from workplace.

The victims went to Jordan to work in garments factories.

According to primary suspicion, two Bangladeshi officials--M Faruk Hossain and Rafiqul Islam--are involved in these occurrences.

A Bangladeshi female worker, employee of Classic Fashion of the country, on Thursday claimed terrific matter to banglanews.

She said four female workers had gone missing within less than one month while the last victim was Nazma, 21, who was abducted by a gang of miscreants on Wednesday.

All the victims worked at Classic Fashion, which is belongs to an Indian owner, located at Al-Hasan area of Jordan.

Under this circumstance, around four to five thousand female workers are living in panic and fear over the missing dilemma of their colleagues. Even, they are planning to return home.

Wishing anonymity, the female worker told banglanews: “Bangladeshi officers Faruk and Rafiq are connected with the abductions.”

She claimed that the Bangladesh Mission in Jordan did not take any action in this regard. Conversely the factory authority counter accused that we had been fleeing from the factory.

They were killed after being raped, she assumed.

Regarding the matter, over telephone, Bangladesh Embassy to Jordan head of consul Towfiq Islam Shatil told banglanews: “We have heard about the matter and asked police to take actions accordingly. Right now, the matter is under investigation.”

He also said the factory authority had accused that their female workers had been fleeing from it.
