NOAKHALI: A six-year girl student drowned in a pond at East Charchenga village under Hatia Upazila in the district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Tanzila Akter, 6, daughter of Sanaullah of the village.
She was a class one student of West Charchenga village.
Tanzila fell on the pond nearby her residence while her mother was busy in cooking, locals said.
Later, her body was recovered from the pond.
