DHAKA: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman Dr Mizanur Rahman Wednesday alleged that conspiracy is going on in garment industry centering workers’ leader Aminul murder.
“Hearing the remark of an influential country’s envoy, it seems that garment industry is being questioned by a vested quarter,” he said.
The law professor also observed that the conspiracy is going on in the sector following workers’ leader Aminul murder and all conspiracy would be stopped if the government ensures punishment of the culprits.
The NHRC boss came up with the assertion while addressing a seminar titled ‘Labour Welfare Foundation Act: Review and Action’ held at the National Press Club organized by Karmajibi Nari.
Mentioning the HRC’s concern over Garments Industry of the country, he said, “We do not want to listen that investigation is going on. The mask of the culprits will be unveiled now.”
He said, “It is not big issue that whether US import our readymade garments. The conspiracy is going on to demolish the industry. Worker will be the main victim if the industry demolished.”
Dr Mizan said, “Owners can shift their investments to another sector. World Bank also will assist them. So, workers have to aware about the conspiracy.”
Karmajibi Nari Acting President Dr Pratima Pal Majumdar presided over the programme.
Workers’ welfare foundation director General Foyzur Rahman, member Abdul Motin Master, workers’ leader Aminul Islam Amin also addressed in the seminar.
Advocate Nazrul Isalm presented the keynote in the seminar.
