NETROKONA: The state-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Ltd (Bapex) has started searching for gas and oil in Sunetro field Friday.
Petrobangla chairman Professor Dr Hossain Monsur inaugurated the mining works.
Among others, Engineer Moazzam Hossain Ratan, project director and deputy general manager of BAPEX Nurul Islam and managing director Murtoza Ahmad Faruk were present.
The field was named “Sunetro” as it is situated in the area of Sunamganj and Netrokona.
Murtoza Ahmad said, “Sunetro seems potential and we have completed the works to start digging.”
The digging works will be end within 90 days, hoped deputy general manager of BAPEX Nurul Islam.
