DHAKA: A Dhaka court placed four Hizb ut-Tahrir activists on 3-day remand for police interrogation.
The accused are Imtiaz Hasan, Ariful Islam, Ariful Karim and Kadar Jamil.
Metropolitan Magistrate Kamrun Nahar Rumi granted remand following a 7-day remand plea of Sher-e-bangla Nagar Thana sub-inspector Nazul Islam.
Earlier on Friday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel picked up four suspected members of banned Islamist outfit Hizbut Tahrir from different areas in the city.
RAB source said acting on a tip-off; a RAB-2 team raided city’s Kantaban, Jigatola and Mohammadpur areas and held the Hizb ut-Tahrir operatives.”
The law enforcers also recovered leaflets, posters and Jihad books from their possession.
