Goplaganj bus plunge kills mother-son

GOPALGANJ: Mother and son were killed and five others injured as a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Gopinathpur area under Sadar upazila on Dhaka-Khulna highway on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Ratna Begum, 30, wife of Rahiz Mia of Parchandradighalia village in Sadar Upazila and their son Enamul alias Tamim, 6.

Sadar thana OC Md. Bohan Uddin told banglanews, “A Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Panna Deluxe plunged into a roadside ditch in the area at around 9am while trying to give side to a passenger van and a truck, leaving two people dead on the spot and five others injured.”

On information, police and fire fighters rushed in and sent the victims of the accident to Gopalganj General Hospital.
