DHAKA: At least five students of Dhaka University were injured in a factional clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) following a trivial matter on Friday night.
Witnesses said some BCL activists led by Bijoy and Faisal of Surya Sen Hall engaged in an altercation with Ziaur Rahman Hall BCL leader Manik as Manik resisted them to beat up a local shopkeeper.
At one stage, the activists of the two Halls locked into a clash at about 11pm, leaving at least five students injured on both sides.
On information, police, senior BCL leaders and university’s proctorial team rushed in and brought the situation under control.
