19 more anthrax infected in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ: Some 19 more people have been found infected with anthrax in Pachil village under Shahjadpur upazila of the district Monday.

The infected people are Shantona Khatun, Anjuara Begum, Hamidul Islam, Sonia Khatun, Nazrin Khatun, Azmira Khatun, Ajmail Islam, Nazrul Islam, Momota Khatun, Razia, Sagar, Amina Begum, Abdul Hamid, Alladi Khatun, Shoma Khatun, Mirajul Islam, Runa Khatun, Shamoli Khatun, and Maya Khatun.

Around 60 people were found infected with anthrax in last one week in the district.

Civil Surgeon Dr Nazimuddin Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On June 2, people suddenly started getting infected with the disease after having the meat of Mannan Bepari’s sick cow, of Pachil village.
