DHAKA: A Dhaka court Monday placed seven activists of banned Islamist outfit Hizbut Tahrir on a 2-day remand for police interrogation.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Anwar Sadat granted the remand when police produced them before the court with 3-day remand plea.
The detained Tahrir activists are Tarek Saifullah, Ashraful Karim, Safayet Jamil Sohagh, Fayad Hossain Qaium, Shahdat Haque Munna, Mahmud Hasan and Nur Mohammad.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2), in separate drives, arrested them from city’s Mohammadpur and Dhanmondi areas on June 23.
RAB also recovered a laptop, four computers, eight mobile phone sets, hundreds of leaflets, CDs and books from their possession.
