DHAKA: Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan of the Islamic calendar, is being celebrated with fervour across India on Monday.
The announcement of celebrating Eid on Monday came after a meeting of Qadeem Royat Hilal Committee headed by Maulana Mufti Mohammed Mukkaram, Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid on Saturday.
President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Vice President M. Hamid Ansari on Sunday greeted the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
