DHAKA: Home Minister Sahara Khatun expressed her profound shock at the death of Bangladeshi UN peacekeeper who was killed by unknown gunman in Sudan’s Darfur region.
In a condolence message, she prayed for the salvation of his departed soul and expressed her sympathy for the bereaved family members.
Mohamad Ajgar Ali, a police constable, was killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on a UN police station in Sudan`s Darfur region, the United Nations and African Union-led peacekeeping force there said.
According to the condolences message, he was on duty at UNMID, a joint peacekeeping mission of African Union and United Nation and hailed from Santia Upazila of Pabna.
On July 8, he joined in peacekeeping mission in Sudan. He left behind wife, 2 son and other family members.
