DHAKA: Investors witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Wednesday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 10 points to stand at 4,680 at the close on the day trading.
The volume of transactions, however, increased to Tk 1,496 million from Tuesday’s Tk 1,287 million. Trade deals stood at 51,959 against the previous day’s 41,760.
Of the issues traded, 99 advanced, 140 declined and 20 remained unchanged.
GBBPOWER topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 128 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were SIBL, LAFSURCEML, MPETROLEUM, EXIMBANK, GP, TITASGAS, UCBL, LANKABAFIN and JAMUNAOIL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,878 by dropping over 22 points.
Out of the issues traded, 55 gained, 107 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
On Tuesday, the benchmark indices of DSE rose over 2 points while CSE shed over 1 point.
