DHAKA: Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan visited Hili land port on Wednesday.
After visiting the land port, the minister held a meeting with the port officials, employees.
In the meeting, Khan informed that the government has started initiative to allot 12 acres of land to accelerate the activities of the port.
Moreover, necessary steps would be taken to solve the problems of the employees, increase export, import through the port and ease the traffic congestion, he added.
Hakimpur UNO AKM Shawkat Alam Majumdar, upazila vice chairman Sahinur Islam, C & F Agent Association President Abul Kalam Azad, among others, spoke at the meeting.
