CHITTAGONG: National Board of Revenue (NBR) Saturday accorded reception to 65 highest and long-term taxpayers here marking the National Income Tax Day-2012.
Chittagong Tax Zone hosted a divisional level function at MA Aziz Stadium in the city.
A good number of taxpayers including members of the civil society, professional leaders and tax lawyers were present at the function.
Minister for Primary and Mass Education Dr Afsarul Amin addressed the programme as the chief guest where NBR member Md Shahjahan spoke as special guest.
A total of 39 highest taxpayers and 26 long-term tax payers from 11 districts including the Chittagong City Corporation and Comilla City Corporation were given reception at the function.
With Commissioner of Chittagong Tax Zone-1 Dabir Uddin in the chair, the programme was also addressed, among others, by Abdur Rahman Badi MP, the highest taxpayers of Chittagong City Corporation Salauddin Kashem Khan, Nahid Banu.
A week-long tax fair will be held form Sunday at MA Aziz Stadium of the city to be inaugurated by Minister for Primary and Mass Education Dr Afsarul Amin.
