A three-member panel of judges, headed by Justice Nizamul Hauqe, Monday fixed the date.

Earlier in the day, chief prosecutor Ghulam Arif Tipu and prosecutor Altaf Hossain read out the 51-page opening statement before the three-member tribunal.

The statement placed the emerging ways of Jamaat.  It stated that Nizami was the president of Nikhil Pakistan Islami Chhatra Songha and later he was made president of Rajakar and Al-Badr force during liberation war.

As per the prosecution statement, Nizami gave different anti-liberation statements in different areas in that time. The statements instigated and inspired the pro anti-liberation people.

On May 28, the ICT-1 framed charges against Jamaat leader Motiur Rahman Nizami on basis of 16 charges of wartime crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.

On January 9, the ICT took into cognizance the formal charges against the former Jamaat Amir Nizami, for his alleged involvement in war crime.
