ICC announces schedule of warm-up matches for World Twenty20

Dubai: India will begin their ICC World Twenty20 campaign with a warm-up match against hosts Sri Lanka on September 15, followed by arch-rivals Pakistan on September 17 -- both the matches scheduled in Colombo.

Sri Lanka will play their second warm-up match against the West Indies on September 13, defending champion England`s would be up against Australia and Pakistan on September 17 and 19 September, respectively.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the schedule of both men`s and women`s warm-up matches, which will be played in the lead up to the tournament, starting on September 18. The women`s competition will begin on September 26.

The men`s competition will be staged in Colombo, Hambantota and Pallekelle while the women`s group stage will be played in Galle.

However, Colombo alone will host the warm-up matches for both the men and women. The men`s warm-up matches will be played from 13 to 17 September and women`s matches on 22 and 23 September.
