27 infected with anthrax in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ: Some 27 people have been found infected with anthrax in Nawkoir village under Ullapara upazila of the district Sunday.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Sanitary Inspector of Civil Surgeon office Ram Chandra Saha said, “A medical team of Ullapara Upazila Health Complex found them infected.”

The infected people include Atikur Rahman, Selim Hossain, Abdus Salam, Nasir Uddin, Ershad Ali, Ratna Khatun, Shahida Khatun and others.

Head of the medical team Dilip Kumar Sarker told banglanews, “All were infected as they eat beef of an anthrax infected cow of Abdus Samad of the village.”

District Civil Surgeon Dr Nazim Uddin said, “The infected people are getting well and there is no need to be tensed.”
