The imprisoned includes some most influential Ministers of BNP-Jamaat Alliance government.

The former BNP Ministers includes State Minister for Home Lutfuzzaman Babor, State Minister Abdus Salam Pintu and former law maker powerful Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintoo.

The imprisoned Jamaat-e- Islami leaders includes the party chief and former Industry Minister Motiur Rahman Nizami, Naeb-e-Amir Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, party secretary general and former Social Welfare Minister Ali Ahsan Md. Mujahid, Assistant secretary general of the party Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, Abdu Kader Molla and Rajshahi City Jamaat Amir Ataur Rahman.

Of them, BNP leaders Abdus salam Pintoo, Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintoo and Jamaat leaders Motiur Rahman Nizami, Delwar Hossain Sayeede are enjoying the special privileges (Division) in jail as former law makers.

They passed many previous Eid festivals in jail. Besides these VIP leaders, a sizeable number of leaders and activists will observe Eid in different district jails of the country.

Sources informed that on Eid day the respective family members of the imprisoned leaders will meet them at the jail gate.

However, no information was received that weather there is any party decision to meet them at jail gate.

Talking about stranded leaders in jail the acting Secretary General of BNP told Banglanews that, ‘there is not any significant leader now stranded in jail’. However he meant about the leaders and activists stranded in recent cases.

Regarding the jail stranded leaders of the party, BNP standing committee member M.K. Anowar told Banglanews,’ they are still in jail. Nothing could be done about them. But the recently arrested leaders and activists are no more in custody, they have been bailed out.’

Commenting on the same subject another standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan told Banglanews that,’ the government did not even consider the humanitarian aspect of the long time imprisoned Babor and Pintu. They have been in jail custody years together. Still their charges could yet to be proved. They are being deprived of Eid enjoyments every year.’
