DHAKA: Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Shiro Sadoshima said Japan is monitoring the steps of the Bangladeshi government over the Padma Bridge issue.
Japanese decision over its loan disbursement for the bridge will depend on the next step taken by Bangladesh, she added.
The Japanese envoy came up with the statement while addressing a meeting organized by Diplomatic Correspondent Association of Bangladesh (DCAB) held at National Press Club around 12pm on Sunday.
She said Bangladesh could build the bridge with its own fund. But there is a ‘question-mark’ sustains concerning the implementation of the fund.
