DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member MK Anwar apprehended that the country has to face long-term problem due to bad relation with the World Bank on Padma Bridge issue.
The senior leader of the party came up with the apprehension while addressing a discussion meeting held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in the city Monday.
MK Anwar raised question that why the government waited for last four years to construct the bridge while it is possible to build with own funding.
Expressing doubt whether the waiting was for embezzling money, he said, “The money has been embezzled and relation also became bad with WB.”
MK Anwar also raised question why the Prime Minister is not terminating former Communications Minister Abul Hossain.
He said that the country has become friendless.
The discussion meeting was also addressed, among others, by advisor to BNP chairperson Shamsuzzaman Dudu, joint publicity secretary Syed Emran Saleh Prince and Major (retd) MA Mehbub Rahman.
