DHAKA: Investors witnessed significant gain in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Tuesday after a series of fall in recent days.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 134 points or 3.14 per cent to stand at 4,400 at the close on the day trading.
The volume of transactions also increased to Tk 1,621 million from Monday’s Tk 1,428 million. Trade deals stood at 60,110 against the previous day’s 53,834.
Of the issues traded, 253 advanced, 9 declined and 6 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 101 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, SQURPHARMA, NBL, MPETROLEUM, KEYACOSMET, LANKABAFIN, LAFSURCEML, GPHISPAT and TITASGAS.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,432 by gaining over 232 points.
Out of the issues traded, 158 gained, 18 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
On Monday, the benchmark indices at DSE and CSE shed 21 and 12 points respectively.
