DHAKA: Robbers looted Tk 5 lakh and 100 tolas of gold ornaments from former Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Commissioner and Badda Thana BNP president Kazi Hazrat Ali’s residence early Saturday.
Sources said a gang of robbers numbering five to six entered into the house at about 4am and confined the family members into a room.
The dacoits left the house at about 6am after looting.
Kazi Hazrat Ali’s nephew Kazi Hedayet said the robbers looted over Tk 5 lakh, 100 tolas gold ornaments and his uncle’s licensed pistol with six-round bullets.
Bhatara Thana Operation Officer Ekram Ali Mia told banglanews they are making list of the looted goods. The robbers will be arrested soon.
