DHAKA: A 15-day printmaking exhibition began at Gulshan’s Bengal Art Lounge on June 21.
Twenty five artists are participating in the exhibition titled ‘1/25’.
Brazil’s charge d’ affairs to Bangladesh and also a member of the Curatorial Board of the Museum of Sao Paolo, Fausto Godoy inaugurated the show Thursday evening.
Director of the Safiuddin Bengal Printmaking Studio professor Mahmudul Haque was also present at the inaugural ceremony.
A total of 30 prints, made at the Safiuddin Bengal Printmaking Studio, are on display.
The show features the works of the artists including Qayyum Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam, Shuvaprasanna, Shahid Kabir, Ranjit Das and Anisuzzaman.
According to the organisers, the exhibition is a tribute to Bangladesh’s one of the major artists and also a pioneer of the printmaking tradition in the country late Safiuddin Ahmed.
It will remain open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm till July 7.
