Girder of Bahaddarhat flyover collapse

CHITTAGONG: A concrete girder of under-construction Bahaddarhat flyover in Chittagong collapsed on Friday afternoon, injuring one.

Chandgaon thana OC Babul Chandra Banik told banglanews: “A girder connecting pillars No. 22 and 23 of the flyover suddenly fell on the ground at around 1:30pm.”

A rickshaw-puller Jahangir Alam, who was standing below the flyover, sustained minor injury, OC said.

The vehicular movement has been stopped on the road that created huge traffic congestion.
