DHAKA: Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities Saturday suspended one student temporarily for assaulting a senior staff of Biology Faculty, Ehtesamul Haque Minnu.
The suspended student is GM Hasan of Geography and Environmental Science department.
Confirming the matter, Registrar of the university Abu Bakar Siddique told banglanews, “He was suspended temporarily for his alleged involvement with the incident.”
He said, “A five-member probe body led by dean of Mathematical and Physical Sciences Faculty professor Dr. Md. Nurul Alam was formed to investigate the issue. The committee was asked to submit the report within seven days.”
Earlier on June 13, the student allegedly assaulted the senior staff of Biology Faculty.
On the other hand, the students of Geography and Environmental Science department observed various protest progremmes bringing allegation on Minnu for harassing their teacher Mostafijur Rahman on the same day.
