DHAKA: Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited organized an art competition following the ‘World Environment Day-2012’ at its corporate office in the city Saturday.
The theme of the contest was “Rong Tulite Amar Prithibi” and the children were expected to draw/paint picture portraying the world as they would want it to be.
Earlier, Robi also distributed free tree plants on the World Environment Day. Robi believes that Taking up a green cause is not a day`s work but a life-long mission.
The competition was open to children aged between 3 to 14 years while 80 children gathered at the art competition.
The children drew pictures on the theme for 2012 encompasses various aspects of human living, ranging from transport to energy to food to sustainable livelihood.
Speaking at the event Vice President – CSR, Mohiuddin Babar said, “Aim of this art competition is to educating children and their families to integrate sustainable actions into their everyday lives. World Environment Day is not just about recognizing our environment but also about encouraging people to ‘think and be green’.”
Executive Vice President - CRL of Robi Mahmudur Rahman handed over prizes to the children at the prize giving ceremony.
