DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted an Iftar party for leaders of different political parties at her official residence Ganobhaban in the city on Wednesday.
A special prayer conducted by Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Khatib Moulana M Salauddin Ahmed was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation before the iftar.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other victims of the August 15 massacre, four national leaders, martyrs War of Liberation, slain persons of August 21 carnage and heroes of democratic movements.
The premier exchanged greetings with the invited gusts during the religious fest.
Among others, Senior Awami League leaders, ruling party ministers, lawmakers, PM’s principal secretary, special secretary, press secretary and advisors were present during the iftar mahfil.
Besides, Jatiya party chairman HM Ershad, fourteen-party leaders Ruhul Amin Hawlader, MP, Barrister Anisur Islam Mahmud, MP, Moinuddin Khan Badal, MP, Ziauddin Bablu and JSD leader Shirin Akhter also attended the Iftar.
