Nahid for using modern tech in education

DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid Monday directed all concerned to use modern technology in education planning and management to get better outcome.

The minister made the call while addressing a four-day long workshop held in city on modern technology for education.

Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO (BNCU) and Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (IESCO) jointly organized the programme at BANBEIS Bhaban.

The national education policy would have a direction of using modern technology in education, Nahid mentioned.

Under the policy, the government has already introduced multimedia class room in 20,500 educational institutions, online admission process, publishing result, registration and recruitment, he added.

The government has also published e-books for the students.

Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury chaired the programme.
    
Among others, the representatives of education ministry, department of primary education, Save the Children, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, BRAC are participating in the workshop.
