HABIGANJ: A person was killed and 35 others injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over establishing supremacy in Manika village under Bahubal upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Ali Radhu, 60 of the village.
The injured were admitted to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex and Habiganj Modern Hospital.
Local sources said supporters of Dilara Khatun and Joynal Mia locked into a clash around 8:00am following previous enmity over establishing supremacy, leaving Radhu dead on the spot and 35 others injured from both sides.
Officer-in-Charge of Bahubal Model Thana Azizur Rahman Sarkar told banglanews: “On information, police rushed in and took the situation under control”.
Police sent the body to Habiganj Modern Hospital for autopsy, he added.
