DHAKA: A 3-day long Expo Malaysia begun Thursday in the city in observance of the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Industries Minister Dilip Barua inaugurated the Expo at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
Leading cell phone operator Robi Axiata Ltd is playing host as Title Sponsor of the Expo and it is being managed by Triune Exhibition and Event Management Services Ltd.
The exposition, organized by the High Commission of Malaysia in Bangladesh, is expected to be participated by a large number of entrepreneurs from Malaysia and their associates in Bangladesh.
The inaugural programme was also attended, among others, by Malaysian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Dato’ Jamaluddin Sabeh, Chief Financial Officer of Robi Axiata mahtab Uddin Ahmed and Regional Director of Tourism Malaysia Zulkifli Mohamed Syed.
Some 45 companies of Bangladesh and Malaysia have participated in the Expo.
Participants from Malaysia include among others, leading educational institutions, renowned healthcare service providers, promoter of Malaysia My Second Home Programme, Property developers, Malaysia Airlines, Tourism Malaysia, traders of Malaysian products and a number of tour operators from Bangladesh.
Attractive tour packages, airlines are being offered by the participants during the Expo, while there will airline tickets and tour packages as raffle prize for the visitors.
The Expo will remain open for all from 10:00am to 8:00pm during the Expo days.
