Over 2,000 oppn men sued in M’singh

MYMENSINGH: More than 2, 000 leaders and activists of BNP-led 18-party alliance were sued on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in vandalizing, torching and preventing police from discharging duties in the district.   

Kotwali Model Thana SI Aminul Islam filed the case on Tuesday morning for Monday’s violence.

Sources said leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir were made accused in the case. After filing the case, many of them have gone into hiding to avoid arrest.
 
Kotwali Model Thana OC Fazlul Karim told banglanews, “The case was filed accusing 2, 075 people including 70 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-shibir.”

 The drives are underway to arrest other accused, he added.
