KHULNA: At least 15 people were injured in sporadic incidents of post-polls violence at Eastern Jute Mills in Atra Industrial Zone, following it’s Majdur Union polls on Friday.
Khanjahan Ali Thana OC Shahidul Islam told banglanews, “Around 15 people were injured in sporadic post election attacks by the defeated group.”
Amongst the injured, Rasel, 19, Sohel, 20, Rabiul, 35, and Abdul, 32 were admitted to Fultali Hospital.
Winning Workers’ leader Alauddin told banglanews, “Some labours of the defeated group mounted panic in the area as they could not accept the defeat in the polls.”
Earlier on Thursday, Alauddin-Jakir Parishad won the Majdur Union election.
