CCC Mayor Manjur made Khaleda’s adviser

DHAKA: Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Manjur Alam was made a member of advisory council of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Sources said Manjur Alam is yet to join BNP formally but the four-party alliance backed him in mayoral race in Chittagong City Corporation in 2010.

After elected as city mayor, the CCC mayor met BNP Chairperson at her Gulshan office. Besides, he joined different rallies of BNP held in Chittagong.  

On last Monday, mayor Manjur provided all out assistance when Khaleda Zia went to Chittagong to distribute relief goods among landslide affected people.

On June 17 in 2010, M Manjur Alam clinched as mayor defeating ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, three times mayor and AL- backed mayoral candidate, in Corporation’s mayoral race.
