DHAKA: Communications and Railway Minister Obaidul Quader said the government is set to make popular the e-ticketing system in stead of mobile-ticketing to prevent black market sales.
“We will stop mobile ticketing as soon as we get permission of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.
The minister came up with the disclosure while visiting city’s Airport railway station Saturday.
Obaidul Quader said, “We have taken initiatives to modernize the railway sector and trying to promote e-ticketing to lessen the harassment of the passengers.”
Some 10-25 per cent tickets will be available in e-ticketing system, the minister added.
