BB asks banks to open accounts

DHAKA: The Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday directed all scheduled banks to open accounts for collecting fund for construction of much talked Padma Multipurpose Bridge.

The central bank issued a notification in this regard.

As per notification, all scheduled banks have to be opened accounts for collecting donation from people living home and abroad to implement Padma Bridge project.

The banks would have to open the accounts titles ‘Voluntary donation for Padma Bridge’ on behalf of the government.

The collected money would be deposited to Bangladesh Bank through Sonali Bank, sources added.
