‘Antardhan’ posters released in Dhaka

DHAKA: The upcoming film ‘Antardhan’ will be an inspiring film for the nation. The film will create awareness among the people. The filmmakers should come forward in building society.

The speakers told audience at the posters and promotional materials release ceremony of national award-winning filmmaker Syed Ohiduzzaman Diamond’s latest film ‘Antardhan’ in Dhaka.

The vice chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique, veteran cultural personality Kamal Lohani, filmmaker Syed Ohiduzzaman Diamond, film producers Shabnam Shahnewaz Chowdhury and Saiful Islam were present as guests at Dhaka University’s RC Majumdar Hall on the day.

Talking about the film, AAMS Arefin Siddique said, ‘This kind of initiative will help the nation. The film tells the story of the dying river Padma. The film will inspire the nation to save the rivers.’

He further said that the filmmakers should come forward to build society as they have social responsibilities.

Kamal Lohani said, ‘I have come from a village on the bank of Padma, I know how the river has gradually been dying.’

‘Filmmaker Diamond has done his job of making the film ‘Antardhan’. We appreciate his work. We should now see the movie,’ he added.

‘Antardhan’ (Disappearance) is based on the lifestyle of the people by the once mighty river Padma. It presents a story of a fisherman family, which was maintained by the resources from the river.

Starred by Ferdous, Nipun, Ohida Sabrina, Tanay, Rekha Chowdhury and Rabiul Alam, among others, the film shows that with the passes of time the rivers shrinks and like many other fishermen, Moyej becomes unemployed.

The film is expected to be released on September 14.
