DHAKA: Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farooque said the ruling government is interfering in mass media as they have understood that they are at the end of their regime.
He came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion organized by Khaleda Zia-Tarique Rahman Mukti Parishad at National Press Club on Sunday.
Indicating Awami League, he said, “Those, who are establishing BAKSAL and destroying the mass media, won’t be able to hold a fair election. No election will let to be held in Bangladesh without implementing the caretaker government system.”
Denying the allegation of taking money from Pakistan`s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the opposition leader said, “The ruling party itself took money from their foreign friends.”
Among others, Juba Dal president Moazzem Hossain Alal, former MP Helen Zerin Khan, Chittagong BNP organizing-secretary Golam Akbar Khandaker and secretary of the parishad Arifur Rahman spoke in the discussion with parishad president Rafiqul Islam Ratan in the chair.
