BARISAL: At least four people, including local UP chairman was bullet wounded as in a clash centering picnic in Ramkathi area under Barsial sadar upazila on Thursday night.
The injured are---- UP chairman Arifuzzaman Munna, Shahidul Jamaddar, Nasir Mridha and Bashir Mridha. They were admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, at least 40 people including upazila parishad chairman were held regarding the matter.
The groups got into a clash with each other centering a picnic at 8pm and that continued till 11:30pm giving bullet injuries to four people.
Sources said around 25-30 rounds of bullets were fired during the clash.
Besides, a gun and six rounds of bullets were recovered from the spot.
Barisal Metropolitan Police Station SI Md Habib said, “Police and RAB personnel in joint drive till 1:30am on Thursday held at least 53 people in the connection.”
Kaunia Police Station OC Rafiqul Islam said, “We are still continuing the drive to catch the people involved with the matter.”
