JESSORE: The teachers of Jessore Science and Technology University (JSTU) have decided to boycott all classes for an indefinite period protesting insulting attitudes of officials toward them.
Former JUST proctor Dr. Saibur Rahma Mollah said, “We were compelled to announce the protest programme in order to press home our lawful demands. We started our demonstration from Thursday and it will be continued until we met our demands.”
Source said the teachers of the university engaged in an altercation with officials over using a vehicle for visiting the village home of two students, who were killed in a road crash Wednesday.
At one stage, examination controller Abdur Rashid tried to assault the assistant proctor of the university.
Later, teachers decided to boycott classes protesting the altercation.
Teachers alleged that administrative officials always take all facilities of the university while teachers do not get any facility.
