4-day classical music programme in Dhaka

DHAKA: A four-day classical music programme, to be dedicated to the legendary classical music maestro Ustad Alauddin Khan, will be held in Dhaka`s Army Stadium from November 29 to December 2.

The four days of the programme will be dedicated to Ustad Bilayet Khan, Pundit Uday Sankar, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Wahidul Haque.

Around 100 artistes will present music and perform dance at the four-day programme.

Among the eminent artistes, Girija Devi, Shibkumar Sharma, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Rashid Khan, Ajay Chakrabarty, Ali Ahmed Hossain, Shahadat Hossain and Shaheed Parvez will attend the programme.

Bangladesh foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni will inaugurate this mega cultural programme, to be organised by Dhaka`s Bengal Foundation and Kolkata`s ITC SR, at 6:00pm Thursday.

Home minister Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir will inaugurate the second day of the programme while finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit will inaugurate the third day on December 1 and eminent political leader Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury on the concluding day.
