DHAKA: The Bangladesh Army has promoted three Brigadier Generals to the rank of Major General and made changes in five key positions.
The disclosure came from a gazette notification issued by Army Headquarters Thursday.
Of the three new Major Generals, Sheikh Mohammad Aman Hasan has been made the Director General of the Special Security Force (SSF), it added.
Army Headquarter Chief Engineer Brig Gen Abdul Quadir has been promoted to Major General and made the Commandant of Ordinance Factory and Commandant of the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy Brigadier General AKM Abdur Rahman has been made the military secretary to the Army Headquarters.
Besides, SSF Director General Major General Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy has been transferred to the Ninth Infantry Division as its GOC. Nine Infantry Division GOC Major General KM Mominur Rahman has been made the Quarter Master General (QMG).
Ordinance Factory Commandant Major General Abul Hossain has been made the Commandant of the Military Institute of Science and Technology at Mirpur.
Rangpur 66th Infantry Division GOC Major General Sabbir Ahmed has been made the GOC of Chittagong 24 Infantry Division while Military Secretary of the Army Headquarters Major General Salahuddin Miaji has been made GOC of the Rangpur 66th Infantry Division.
