PARBATIPUR, DINAJPUR: Jobs of two hundred and thirty-two workers, appointed through outsourcing at Barapukuria 250MW Power Plant in Parbatipur upazila under the district, were regularized after long periods movement.
Md. Monjurul Haque, chief engineer of Barapukuria Power Plant, told banglanews over cell phone, "Managing council of power development board, in a meeting held on August 25, took decision to regularise the jobs of 1,100 workers of different power plants, appointed through outsourcing. Amongst them, 232 workers were working at Barapukuria Power Plant."
The workers were asked to submit their joining letters attached with necessary documents as early as possible, he added.
They will submit those within two or three days, he hoped.
Sources said, the workers have been agitating for the last nine months to press the authorities to regularise their job but to no effect.
