Bus-truck collision kills one in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR: A bus driver was killed and 14 passengers were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Laxmitala area on Dhaka-Dinajpur highway Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Lutfar Rahman, 56, diver of Nabil Paribahan.

Kotwali Thana OC Aslam Iqbal told banglanews, “A Dinajpur-bound bus of Nabil Paribahan collided head on with a truck coming from opposite direction in the area at about 6:30am, leaving the bus driver dead on the spot and 14 passengers injured.”

The injured were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

Following the accident, agitated locals blockaded the highway for two hours.

On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control and recovered the body.
