DHAKA: State Minister for Law Advocate Quamrul Islam on Tuesday said he expected verdict against several accused in war crimes trial case would be announced in next few days.
“No attack or anarchy will be able to halt the verdict,” he said.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the observation while addressing a programme at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
He alleged that the Jamaat-Shibir is trying to half the trial of the war criminals through creating anarchic situation across the country.
Quamrul threatened members of Jamaat and Shibir of taking strict action if law-and-order is violated in the name of agitation.
On January 21, Abul Kalam Azad alias Bachchu Rajakar was awarded capital punishment for his crimes against humanity during the war of liberation in 1971.
