2 KMC students drown in Gorai

KUSHTIA: Two students of Kushtia Medical College (KMC) drowned in Gorai river of the district Friday.

The deceased were identified as Faridul Islam Milon, 24, of Dinajpur and Shahjalal Majumder Rifat, 25, of Comilla.

Fire fighter divers of Khulna recovered their bodies from beside Renwick dam with the help of police and locals.

Earlier they went missing in Gorai river of the district when they went to bathe there.

Three others also fell sick and they were rushed to Kushtia General Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Kushtia Model Thana Kazi Jalal Uddin told banglanews, “Some 10 students of KMC went to bathe while five of them went missing.”

Three of them were rescued but the two remained missing, he added.
